Was born on 05.11.1971 in Makerrmal, he lives in Prishtina with his family.
Valdet Gjinovci finished his undergraduate studies in 1997 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Agricultural University of Tirana. In 2007 he completed his post graduate Master's degree in the field of Food Safety.
The scientific title Doctor in the field of Veterinary Medicine he achieved in July of 2011 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Agricultural University of Tirana. Valdet Gjinovci was appointed Acting Chief Executive of the Food and Veterinary Agency in April of 2010. In August 2011 he is appointed Chief Executive with full mandate.
Mr. Gjinovci began his professional career with his involvement in the field as a veterinary medical practitioner and with different international projects in the quality of an expert. During the period from March 1997 to March 1998 Valdet Gjinovci worked in Skenderaj as a Veterinary doctor.
During the period from July 1999 until September 2000 he worked for British organization OXFAM. From September of 2000 until July of 2003 he worked as a veterinary expert for the United Nations Organization for Food and Agriculture, FAO in Kosovo.
From September of 2003 until October of 2006 he worked as a Veterinary Border Inspector at the Food and Veterinary Agency. From November of 2006 until February of 2008 he worked as a veterinary expert for the United Nations Organization for Food and Agriculture, FAO in Kosovo.
During the periods from March 2007 until January 2009 he worked as a veterinary expert at the Centre for Livestock in a project funded by the European Commission.
In the period January February of 2009 he fulfilled the function as chief of veterinary border inspections points, from April of 2009 until April of 2010 he was appointed deputy Chief Executive at the Food and Veterinary Agency. Mr. Gjinovci has also performed the function of coordinator on various projects funded by the World Bank and European Commission, implemented by the Food and Veterinary Agency.
He has participated in the group of experts from the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in the dialogue for technical issues for the Integrated Border Management.
From January of 2010, he is a member of the American Organization for Food Hygiene and Veterinary. He is a lecturer at the University of Prishina, Faculty of Applied Sciences in Mitrovica, department of Food Technology. He is author and co-author of several scientific publications in Albanian and English.
